HOWDY! welcome to your new multi-functioning and flexible design community platform. Dreamed up for designers, artists and creatives looking to connect and collaborate in Savannah, GA.
APP FUNCTIONS:
Howdy! looks to provide its members with the ability to register into open studio space, message fellow participants, find creative opportunities, share design files with a working team, keep track of community news, and register to industry workshops.
The goal is to develop a space where we grow a community of like-minded individuals. A playground for creative collaboration, to share common passions, to grow knowledge, and finally to act as a vessel for space rental.
RESEARCH & DESIGN
Interviews conducted across several areas of interest from individual who engaged in the system of interest, from studio members and freelancers to gallery curators. A total of 4 interviews, each lasting from 30 to 60 minutes. Participants were asked questions regarding the established systems, pain points of experiences and overall navigation within the arts and design community.
My interview with the co founder of Sulfur Studios, Alexis, took place within the actual space during a normal day of work. I navigated the space both on my own and later with the guidance of Alexis, who introduced me to a few of the studio members that happened to have their studio doors open. The opportunity allowed me to experience the interaction between co founders while they discussed their new company objectives in a meeting, as well as It allowed me to see the member-landlord relationship and the interaction with gallery traffic.
